Regarding Java, and this is a personal opinion, it is a joke. Here is the scoop: Perl is just as portable and more flexible as glue material, so Java is more of an application development language. Ok, fine. Then I ask you, how many Java applications do you use??? Okay, Rod, answer the question. Could you name the two or three top-selling Java apps at your local Egghead or Best Buy?
