(Nasdaq: CMGI), today announced that it will acquire Transium Corporation, a leading provider of e-commerce navigational services. Transium will become part of the newly formed AltaVista Business Solutions Group that provides global Internet search services to e-commerce and portal sites. Transium, based in Los Altos, Calif., provides services to leading Internet companies Yahoo! Finance, Intuit Finance Network, ConsumerReports.org, and Office.com. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Transium is AltaVista's latest move to provide e-commerce companies, portals and global enterprises with a complete search solution based on its relevant, fast and effective search technology. With the addition of Transium, AltaVista Business Solutions strengthens its position to meet the growing demands facing companies in the age of e-commerce.
