I just did a quick read-up of the BETEX platform. It is for Telcos and large call processing applications, and in no way competes with any of the VM providers (or most of the IVR's for that matter). I have a general knowledge of the type of solutions that Vicorp provides, but this is outside my area of expertise.

The VM companies and products I know about are Applied Voice Technologies, ActiveVoice, ATT, Centigram, Digital Sound, Northern Telecom, Octel, Siemans-Rolm. Rolm is now out of the VM business. NT MeridianMail has always been lackluster. Never cared for Audix. Octel's Sierra was revolutionary but is old now (Jury is out on IMA). Centigram has a pretty good open platform (unix) and also has good TTS product. My current favorite is AVT's CAllXpressNT. My favorite CT companies are Dialogic and Brooktrout. I also like Edify (I know most of the founders).

Note that most or all of these companies are taking a beating. OCtel currently has one of the best PE's. And, of course, is the largest stand-alone VM company.
