"Will we be carrying a phone with a database system on it? Absolutely," Oracle's Fryhoff says.

Here's an article about the move to make specialty databases that will sync with the enterprise in a new way that will enable devices to carry active databases that update in burst modes instead of continually updating. Imagine, a phone with a database.

I read an interesting article about the 10 gig processor which Intel forsee's in less than 10 years. Imagine the power of devices and the spread of intelligence via wired and wireless connections.

Sometimes, we look at these devices as toys, but wow, everything as we know it is about to change.
