Healthcare Industry's Rapid Adoption of Cquence Transcription Exceeds Lanier's Expectations

ATLANTA, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Lanier Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: LR - news) announced today that customers in the healthcare industry are adopting its new Cquence Transcription document creation solution more rapidly than expected. Released just six months ago, Cquence Transcription is Lanier's fifth- generation solution for medical transcription.

``Sales have more than doubled from the same period last year,' said Paul Anderson, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Lanier. ``From a strategic standpoint, this tells us customers are migrating to Cquence technology much more quickly than we planned. It also confirms our belief that Cquence Transcription delivers advantages that competitive offerings simply can't deliver.'

Although it is a highly specialized application, Cquence Transcription runs on industry-standard Microsoft platforms and has an open architecture to facilitate broad systems integration. These factors are crucial to the solution's rapid acceptance, according to Anderson.

``Cquence Transcription runs on the Microsoft SQL Server and Windows NT operating system, and utilizes the familiar Microsoft Word application,' Anderson said. ``We designed it to integrate with health or radiology information systems, as well as dictation systems, using the HL7 standard. This way, it's easier for IT and IS teams to support our solution while they keep their options open for future growth.'

``We also made sure Cquence Transcription helps everyone in the medical document workflow. It includes the features transcriptionists need to improve productivity, such as user-defined normals and one-step function keys. And it gives managers a wealth of tools to monitor productivity, reporting and other tasks.'

Cquence Transcription is part of the Lanier Cquence application suite for medical document creation, completion, distribution and retention.
