Hi Mark thanks for the response. That site seems to deal with a problem that is Compaq specific. My computer isn't experiencing anything like that. My computer is comprised of parts from my Dell 200mmx that could be used and a new motherboard to go with the Celeron 466 that I put in. Here is a curious thing. Yesterday I added 64 megs of ram to bring the system up to 128. When I checked the system resources I was still in the 58% range when running five browser windows along with an mIRC chat site. The interesting part is that when I eliminated some items from the start up menu the other day I gained about 8% points. The new ram is being detected so that's not the problem. The local tech guy suggested that with that many windows open that I add another 128 megs. Of course he is in the business of selling ram.
