Mr. Frank Donis reports
Effective immediately, Michael Hopley will assume the position of president of the company. The vote was unanimous at a Feb. 5, 2000, meeting of the board of directors.
Mr. Hopley brings over 25 years of mineral exploration and development experience to the company with the last 15 years in the management of public, junior, resource companies and corporate finance.
Damien Reynolds who held the position of interim president will remain an active member of the board of directors being responsible for strategic planning and corporate relations. Also, another major resource for the company will be Alan Bernstein,, elected to the board at the company's Oct. 28, 1999, annual general meeting. It is anticipated that Mr. Bernstein's many years of experience in developing affiliations between small and large companies will greatly assist Epic in its future plans.
As a member of the Epic team Mr. Hopley is committed to rapidly advancing the company's projects in Alberta and Washington state. On Feb. 4 and 5 the future direction and plans for the company were discussed at a two-day meeting of the board of directors and technical consultants to the company. As a result of this meeting a letter will be sent to shareholders outlining Epic's plans for the future. In addition, an update will be given within the next few days on the status of Epic's application for grant monies from the U.S. Department of Energy for development of carbon dioxide sequestration technology in Whatcom County, Wash.
