I think your complaint is valid and agree with your assesment. For an on shore broker I think cybers availability is about average but them yanking shares when they come ripe for shorting is deplorable. If schwab or fidelity or another investor oriented broker did this I would understand but cyber caters to professional traders. Yanking shares in the name of risk management seems to me to be motivated by the Schwab aquisition. They want to ensure the deal goes through. I have watched cyber grow since they did not even have cyberbroker, and was always impressed with the technology even back in 97. Now it seems they are going more mainstream and are no longer going after professional traders. They won't even reserve short shares or attempt to hunt them down. Almost any other broker on the street will at least try. Cyber is like that favorite band you love that kicks ass until they go mainstream and then sell out. Yamner is a good alternative although phone based.
