You say::
<<If someone posts something that is opinion oriented, to use the "credibility" word is very unfair,>>
Cindy, it seems to me a statement that is NOT PREFACED by something like "I think" or "it's my opinion" and says that a highly regarded doctor has published no articles except one, falls out of the realm of "opinion". He stated that as a fact, even though he had NO IDEA if it was true (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt...because if he KNEW the truth, he would be then be LYING).
Can you tell me that statement (the one s martin said about Dr. Hirschman's publications) is an opinion?? And stated as fact, if he cannot disprove what we are saying, then he needs to come up here to clarify and correct.
Until then, I would say his "credibility" is severely diminished, wouldn't you??
I agree with what you and Jake are saying about anyone's right to say things, however when you are spreading falshoods that can be proven false (and KNOW it) , you are bordering on libel...and should be taken to task for your utterences in public. Don't you agree? |
