Oh Dennis,

Now you've got me completely flummoxed. So many great questions. So little public information forthcoming from Bend Cable. Please indulge me here. It may take a couple of days but it will be fun to do the research. I may have to work back channels, but I will go about trying to answer your questions. Because they are good ones. And I should know the answers.... Patience, my friend...

This one I can answer: how would you rate the video quality on the MPEG-2 encoded channels? If indeed it is MPEG-2 (I'll ask), then it is no great shakes. Not different enough for this -4 dioper type to notice.

And as far as cramming more channels into the stream, heaven help us. I was feeling listless and insomniac a few nights ago, so tried to watch TV. We've got 50 channels already and there's nothing on. What would the negative of nothing be? Maybe the TV guys are figuring out ways to suck the brain cells out of our heads? Oh, never mind. They're doing that already.

Best, Ray
