Some of our country's best companies are having earnings or other difficulties and their stocks seem to be on sale today.

I've added today to positions in:
Allstate (ALL)
Albertson's (ABS)
United Airlines (UAL)
MBIA (MBI)

These stocks are all hitting new 12 month lows.

Also fwiw, following you into ALSC. Company has $17 (after tax) worth of investments (at least) plus it is itself a viable business. Stock at 18; if their investments hold up, then ALSC is a buy, imo. (Since there's an "if" in there - at least for me -- I can't really call buying ALSC a Graham "investment operation". But maybe a fairly good speculation nonetheless.)
