Except for the fact that the stuff irritates your nasal passages so much that you instantly want to sneeze after you use it. That's what happened to me when I tried it. However, everybody on the thread assured me that the spray only had to be in contact with your nasal passages for a second or two to be effective. Therefore, I see no reason why zinc dissolved in saline solution wouldn't "work" just as well. This business about the gel staying in your nose longer is a load of bull IMHO. Why do you think the instructions say to hold your nose closed for at least a minute after application? It's to make sure the crap doesn't leak out!
