And Richard... remember it is isn't the gov't that's responsible, it's people attitudes about gov't that matter. Being a police officer is very much a matter of personal attitude and subject to the constraints of a tight skilled labor market. Not many skilled or highly educated people are working as cops in the smaller communities, or the large cities. Btw,.. we just had a cop killed up in Baltimore the other day. He was working off-duty as a security guard at a jewelry store in the Pikesville region. A couple of armed thugs robbed the place and shot this guys several times in the chest (IN A MALL!!! in an historically Jewish neighborhood). So I cut them a bit of slack if they get a bit tactless when dealing with a violent crime. But I do agree that this drug problem is creating far more problems with policemen's attitudes. Especially when they start going after people who could go out in the forest and collect psychotropic mushrooms any day of the week (or look under a few "meadow muffins"). Regards, Ron
