Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this question has ever been asked before but I'd like to ask it now.

The other day someone told me that it has actually been documented that cats have been responsible for accidently smothering newborns. The cat either lays on the infant's chest or the cat is attracted to the smell of milk on the baby's breath and suffocate them that way.

So, is this true or not???

I have never read anything to prove this. Is this an old wife's tale?
