I wonder if share repurchase will ever enter into the equation?
I am sure BRK would have bought General Re for cash and stock instead of just cash. Since BRK is trading at about half what it did when they bought General Re, it would be very smart to buy back their own shares. The only problem is its trading liquidity. It trades so few shares each day that any substantial buy would raise the price too high. Buyback would work for another company (MO) because it trades millions of shares a day (even though it's at 20, the dollar volume is much greater than BRK.A and B.)
