gold is at the same time a commodity & a currency. yet, it is a currency which must be pulled from the earth via labor and refined while any currency can be simply created with or without value.
I must disagree, money is a thing, it is backed by a system, in our case, "the full faith & credit of the United States". One should wonder if the US $ will have the same value when there is less or no credit against the future of our nation backing it? If not that then, will we(and the world) a lesser or greater faith in our nation in the next 4 or 10 years?
