When you say "didn't break the major uptrend line", are you referring to a chart of today, or the one that existed at those points in time?

On 1/6/99, the stock hit 32 1/8/share(21 13/32 split adjusted to today's prices).
On 3/24/99, the stock touched 16 3/8/share(10 15/16 split adjusted to today's prices).

A 49% decline does not break the trend that existed during that time period?

Here is another one:
On 7/21/98 the stock hit 36 1/16(16 1/32 adjusted for 2 splits since then).

On 9/1/98(1 wk after the first of those two splits), the stock hit 9 1/2(14 1/4 relative to the 7/21/98 value split adjusted; 6 5/32 relative to today's prices).

A 60% decline does not break the trend, that existed during that time period??

I agree that viewed two years back from today, those "corrections" may not depart from the trend, but they were certainly significant at those respective points in time.
