The Electric Mail Company has signed an agreement with Rogers Communications Inc./Rogers AT&T Wireless Inc. to provide Web-based E-mail services to Rogers AT&T wireless interactive messaging subscribers.
Rogers AT&T Wireless is Canada's largest wireless provider, serving over 2.6 million customers from coast to coast. Rogers AT&T Wireless provides a complete range of wireless solutions including cellular, paging and interactive messaging, digital PCS and wireless data services.
The use of wireless networks for E-mail communication and management is part of a trend that will see E-mail accounting for over 75 per cent of network transactions by 2002, predicts Messaging Magazine (January/February, 2000).
States company president and chief executive officer, Iain Black, "The solution integrates our robust Web mail offerings with leading-edge interactive paging technology, and represents a truly meaningful step towards fulfilling the wireless Internet promise of any time, anywhere communications."
Mr. Black continues: "It is also a milestone for the company as the wireless industry represents a key growth market segment for both our existing and future service offerings. We are committed to this technology and the wireless industry, and continue to invest substantially in the integration of Internet messaging and wireless personal communication devices. We are excited to be working with Rogers AT&T Wireless."
