Also King Products Inc (KINK)
Mr. Stephen Niven reports
Canada Payphone and King Products Inc., Mississauga, Ont., have formed an
alliance partner agreement to market and build CPC's AT&T Canada branded
Internet kiosk network across Canada. The companies will jointly market the
Internet kiosk network to AT&T Canada's national corporate customers and
other major Canadian corporations. CPC will operate the network using
King's new m100 interactive multimedia terminals and KingNet software
solution incorporating a variety of unique customized content.
The alliance secures the companies' positions as the leading innovators in
Canada's public access communications industry. CPC is leading the drive in
Canada to take the on-line channel beyond the confines of home and office
and into public space where network content providers can reach a greater
market. King is focused on providing complete turnkey solutions to public
access service providers using a range of attractive terminals all
operating under the Linux-based KingNet management and e-commerce software
system.
"With the marketing strength of both King Products and CPC, companies and
consumers will benefit from the new Internet kiosk network. Access to
on-line information is what consumers now expect and companies can now
expand their reach both within and outside their environments to include
access to a wide variety of on-line goods and services," said Bruce Clark,
president and chief executive officer, CPC. "Online sales and advertising
will substantially increase revenue to CPC and King."
