Mark, I like your style. A little sobering analysis never hurts on this board. I too think the telco market is the key for the product. On the GMGC web site Portico is called "our flagship product."
One way for the competition can beat us is to say, "Sure, GMGC has a nice little product and once they have web access it may be of some use. So just bypass this version."
Voice access for mail ( e and v), calendaring, stocks and news is wonderful and very useful right now. Note that Bellsouth says only 12% of customers use voice mail. "AAA," Anytime, Anywhere, Access. Or "AAA AOL." Anytime, Anywhere, Access (on) Any Old Line!!!
All these guys hyping the GM deal. Perhaps they are double-agents. Is there real message that you can't do anything with GMGC without a $25,000 Cadillac? (This last is a bit tongue-in-cheek.)
GMGC's message today that they are "neutral" on scams hurt a bit for today's trading. The scam is not of much importance for those who are investing for the medium or long term.
I am one of the few on the boards who admit to trading this stock. It has been lots of fun. Buy today just before lunch at 9 7/8, out about 3:45 at 10 1/4 (catchng that blip was pure luck) and back in in the after-market at 9 7/8. I am not a trader except for GMGC and briefly for NAVR; 90% of my market investments are in funds.
My sentiment is with the longs. If John M. makes a million bucks on GMGC, I will not be envious. (If John M. makes a million, Ed V. on RB will make $5 million.)
