today rumors of a suspension of the BoE sales circulated...i know that's probably nonsense, but if you were in charge of gold sales at a CB, wouldn't you stop to consider that better prices might be available at a later date?
no, the BoE will likely continue to sell....but the Swiss CB is a good candidate for potentially changing it's mind. the Swissy has the highest gold backing of all currencies - might be of advantage in the not-too-distant future?
the planned sales amount to 1,500 tons, the lion share of the European allotment for sale over the next five years. now THAT would move the market.
maybe somebody can plant the idea in Switzerland...:)
