I did not understand why Thomson was not listed as an independent decoding solution. Is that because Thomson incorporates the RCA solution in its decoders? I don't know whether SGS-Thomson developed the MPEG2 decoding on its own, or if it obtained the solution in conjunction with Thomson's buyout of RCA.

I was out of town for a few days too, and there's a lot of reading to do! I always take my laptop with me, but it's more painful to read these posts at 14.4kbps than it is at work!
