Dennis and Ray, the most common digital channel arrangement in the US is 3 MPEG digital video channels in a standard 6 MHz bandwidth.

This is the scheme used by the biggies like AT&T and Time Warner and most other large MSOs. Each MPEG uses approx. 2 MHz each. The affectionate term used by cable MSOs for this arrangement is "a 3 pack" (one set of 3 digital channels in a standard analog channel) or "a 6 pack" (2 sets of 3 digital channel in 2 standard analog channels or 12 MHz). The 6 pack is the most popular.

Who said cable guys had no sense of humor or imagination?
