Ed - Question of computer configuration for Canada Stockwatch data. I used to have the Canadian stocks on my BMI satelite feed, but they took it off to make room for the increased data from the US mkts, so now I just use the satelite feed to trade the e-mini S&P contract. My question is the following: Is there an optimal combination of hardware to set up a computer to get the Canada Stockwatch stuff through to it with the least amount of delay? Do you use dialup modem. sympaticos high speed line, or the cable wave. Do we need P3-400 Intel chips, 256Meg Ram, Windows98, and 2 high quality video boards if running 2 monitors? Has this subject been discussed on your thread recently? If not perhaps we could share some ideas with others. For example, I have a new computer, but am in the process of upgrading the 2nd video card for one of my 2 monitors to the Asus G-force AGP card because I think I am experiencing logjams of data processing to the various browser windows. Any comments? Anyone? Even tho the e-mini trading is challenging, trading stocks is also vry challenging when one has to contend with the mkt feed, the delays in getting orders in, filled, and getting backout. |
