Earlie:

Dell says:

``I think we are the beginning of a massive buildout of storage and servers' to provide companies with new Internet capabilities,' Dell said.

``Probably 5 percent of what is necessary five years out is installed today and what's installed today will have to be replaced,' he said.

"Within the next few weeks Dell said it will unveil a new Web hosting business, where the company would supply and manage company Web site operations, first for small and medium size business customers and eventually large corporate accounts"

I thought the US corporations are choked with enough PCs for now. DELL after having supplied them most for the past few years now says they may have to replace them soon. Talk about screwing your customers: Buy my expensive stuff now, I will come next year and ask you to replace them with even more expensive stuff.

Looks like they are looking to do anything to grow their business now that the PC has become a commodity. Doesn't INTC also do web hosting these days. I know EXDS is one such company. Seems like all hardware manufacturers are not too happy with their core business anymore !
