To get it at the IPO price, you would have to open an account at either RBC Dominion, First Marathon or Yorkton Securities in Canada. They can open US accounts if your American.

I believe the split is 50% First Marathon, 35% RBC Domninion & 15% Yorkton. I've been told that the issue is already getting a lot of interest, but it is rare in Canada for new issues to go roaring ahead, so I would imagine you could get a Merrill Lynch or whoever you may deal with to buy shares in the first few days of trading. It won't be much of a premium to the IPO price, unless it goes extremely well and who knows.

The reason it could be interesting is because Mainframe's gotten much better at their techniques via proprietary software (did you know they're one of the alpha sites for Microsoft's SoftImage and one of the largest licensors?). There is a lot of interest from other producers in TV and Movies. I understand that there are two US TV proposals with them and a European one on top of the second season of Beast Wars and third of ReBoot. ReBoot three is the first year without having to worry about US network TV censors and I hear they've really addes some interesting new characters, grown some characters and added all sorts of twists to the settings etc... Since it's so popular as an evening, adult show, I think they're trying to appeal to that segment more. It's consistently number one in its evening slot in Canada, UK, Australia.

Also, I would imagine a movie or two will be in the works over the next 6 months or so. I already know that Paul Allen's been up to see them for a few projects (he co-founded Microsoft and is a big part of Dreamworks funding).
