>>NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Police are investigating an explosion at a Wall Street building early Friday morning.
The explosion happened at about 4:40 a.m. EST in front of the Barclay's Bank building at 75 Wall Street, at the corner of Wall Street and Water Street in lower Manhattan, a few blocks from the New York Stock Exchange.
Police spokesman Jerry Varson said the bomb squad is on the scene trying to determine the type of device that exploded. No injuries were reported, but windows on the building and at a nearby building at 95 Wall Street were blown out.
Varson said police are looking for an individual seen at the site at the time of the blast, but he could not say if the person was a suspect or just a witness.
Barclay's said in a statement that it does not have offices or staff in the building, but rents space there to Dresdner Bank and J.P. Morgan.
