Bob: Actually it's easy to imagine people investing in gold who are not traders - even holding gold stocks and never selling them. So far as I know no one has been able to analyse the pattern - but for a long time people have held gold stocks as an insurance against financial mishaps. Some people maintain gold investments as 10-15% of their portfolio.They may soon be rewarded for their perseverance -but many of them will not sell. These are the real die hards.
