Cree Discontinuous or Not?

Mike,

I can't answer your question directly without a better understanding of Q's position. Is Q's discontinuous innovation the algorithm to process/implement CDMA or is a set of circuit designs to implement the algorithm?

What I would say is that if we don't isolate the various IP arenas for CREE but take them in summation, then yes CREE's IP is discontinuous.

Another way to look at it is that CREE has three layers of IP:

1)SiC substrate growth (discontinuous)
2) Processing devices out of SiC (likely not discontinuous)
3) Device structures made from SiC (discontinuous)

The non discontinuous layer is sandwiched between two discontinuous ones. Hence I think in total the IP is discontinuous.
