I don't know about other states, but WI has a use tax. If you purchase an item from out of state and it is shipped to you in WI and it would have been subject to WI sales taxes, you are required to report it and pay a use tax on the item. The use tax is the same rate as the sales tax and is supposed to have the effect of equalizing the purchase.

So is the internet a sales tax haven? Only if you are cheating and not reporting your use tax...at least in WI.

Now I ask you, do we need more laws, or should we just enforce the ones we have?

Seems clear to me.....legistalors are elected to write laws, therefore, they must do their job and create more of a quagmire rather than concentrate on what is currently in place.
