the world is going to wake up and realize that linux is just a kinder and gentler unix. I see little reason to think that Linux will save CORL

Most of the world doesn't care what the kernel is as long as it's very stable and the OS has a friendly and easy to use interface. Unix is very stable but it wasn't always free and you used to need a degree in Computer Science to setup and maintain. Then Linux (and 386bsd and company) came along and unix became free. But it was still difficult to handle for the average user.

Caldera, Red Hat, Corel and others make access to linux easier for Joe Smith. The ones that succeed in this have the potential of making very good money. Linux is just a kernel. The friendly environment and the applications will make the difference with the mainstream users.
