Dan, You assume static behavior at the Asian chip cos. That has never been nor ever will be the case. Also, it is not the case at Intel and Motorola, or at Siemens, or SGS-Thomson, a few of the non-Asian cos. moving into this area.

It is always tempting to bet on the horse that is in first place. But it is more profitable to figure out which horse is running faster right now.

The Korean and Japanese chip cos. have stated their intention to get into FPGAs and realize they are behind right now. The fact that all of these cos. spend more in R&D than Altera and Xylinx have in total revenues would give me some pause if I owned them.
