Thanks for the clarification. It's difficult to tell Dell has that large a share of the server market when some publications only talk about SUNW servers. <g>

About HSDRAM, I guess MH's answer was meant for people 'in the business'! <g> What is DDR? Also, I surmise that Dell couldn't be entrepreneurial on the RMBS problem since they are joined at the hip with Intel. This is because of motherboard designs I take it? Once they committed to INTC, which had already committed resources to RMBS motherboards, then when RMBS bugs appeared, both INTC and Dell were sunk? So this begs the question, why are they so totally dependent on INTC? Is this because of tech support?

Also, the reason this RMBS fiasco didn't hurt CPQ, HWP and IBM is that they have Other sources for motherboards? I know CPQ and IBM do.

Looks like muddy waters going forward given the tangled supplier web?
