The quarry was still a popular haunt back when I was at Duke (T'84). I had heard the same rumor that somebody had subsequently drowned, but I doubt it. Even when I was there, the talk was beginning that the property wouldn't be available much longer.

It's good to see someone else at SI with a 'DBR' favorite link. The Devils' team this year is one of my favorites in recent memory.
