Nokia says EDGE to bring mobile multimedia in 2001 This stuff bothers me. I went to Nokia's site to check out edge. All I could find were PR type documents (not that I'd be able to decifer technical documents). What is the real story here? Is this technology really this close to reality? What are the spectral and dollar cost concerns? Press releases like these are troubling because I'm not qualified to respond. I wish QCOM would issue a press release of their own explaining the differences between Edge implementation and CDMA2000 or even 1X. Can any one here shed some light?
