OT--Trees
While our house was being built, we started purchasing trees and planting them.
In the back part of out lot, we splurged and bought nice 15-20 ft. Sugar Maples, Norway Maples and favs of mine, Crimson King Maples. Come spring, I will pick up a bunch of Scarlet Red Maples to run across the rear lot line...Red Maples are lovers of wet soil, and it gets wet back there. I also snuck some hybrid willows across the lot line to get them going. I brought some small sugar maple seedlings from our old house and will put them in this spring too.
But, I am now searching for a local nursery that has somewhat mature Dawn Redwood trees.
Oh, and we planted 100 5ft arborvitaes along the other lot line last summer....what a job THAT was. We have 20 Japanese Red Maples arriving in April that will flank the driveway.
Now that our land was graded and grass planted late summer, this spring, I will be able to place the weeping crab trees into place as well as any fruit trees that have survived the winter(they are temporarily planted on a berm in the corner. That and I want to expand the area with the raspberry and blueberry plants are.
Whew!!! Did I mention that we have to build a deck and gazebo, as well as install a pond and fountain?
I CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
