Re: "Speaking of SPEC scores on AMD's site, here's a note AMD has on the scores - "

Yes we all know that footnote but looks like I'll need to remind you that no one on the planet has been able to reproduce those scores because AMD refuses to publish the compiler options used, as required by SPEC. Just like their bug list. Is this what you'd expect from a company that is confident in their product's performance? Is this what you'd expect from a company who has nothing to hide? Did you also notice that AMD used a 440BX board to benchmark the CuMine with the phantom compiler switches? If Intel did something like this you'd be all over them like stink on *hit but it's obvious that if AMD does it you give em a free pass.

While he was speaking about another issue, I think Tom's hardware page said it best:

"I'm not quite sure what I should think about the honesty of AMD today and I am pretty irritated by that. "

"Let's be honest, we let AMD get away with murder here and who knows how many times before already. The same rules that apply to Intel also apply to AMD. I demand honesty and that means the rigorous publication of any Athlon and Irongate bug, just the way as Intel is doing it for a long time. If AMD wants to stay the 'good guy' next to 'bad Intel' they should start to wipe in front of their own door."

hmaly please clean your glasses and notice I am quoting someone else.
