Mike, you bring up some good points...however, note that Xilinx has a "following" in terms of EEs, as they are "inducted" into Xilinx-ese from college lab courses, and carry this henceforth. This, combined with design software (including recent web-based tools) would take some time for Asian co's to displace. So I guess the point is, certain "intangibles" give Xilinx strength which aren't generally considered by Wall Street rank and file. Summarily, this is no DRAM company where one can drop a simple matrix on a silicon chip. Oh, yes...don't forget the patents.

...I don't own Xilinx or option on said; rather it is a "sub-economy" which interests me.
