GF,

<I should put my statement another way: I'll bet that the reason Mr. Sanders feels confident predicting that revenues will be flat has more to do with upside in the non microprocessor businesses than with stability in the microprocessor business.>

OK, here is what we were told in the earnings call:

- Flash will be up about 10% for the quarter (~$30M)
- Networking and other business will be up about mid-single digits
- Athlon units will go up but no numbers
- K6 units will be down

Now we have Jerry saying that K6 is stronger than expected. Assume K6 remains flat. The upside on each 100ku of Athlons is ~$25M.

So, the question becomes how many Athlon units will AMD ships in Q1 compared to Q4. If the number is anything greater than 100k then I suggest that Athlon incremental sales will be greater than Flash incremental sales.

Do you agree?

Chuck
