"OT" Stock Buyback Sorry to clutter the thread, but knowing the quality people on this thread I feel confident that my question will be answered properly. When a company buys it's own stock what happens to the stock? Is it retired permanently or is it just "owned" by the company to sell back into the market at a later time like any other investor? Perhaps it can be used as in conjunction as stock options for employees/management. Does it reduce the overall stock available and therefore reduce the number of shares that are used to calculate P/E ratios and the like. Perhaps it is a combination of my thoughts. Thanks for any clarification anybody can bring for me. I figure that stock CYMI bought a while back at $15 could be sold into the market to offset some new construction costs. Dusty
