Compaq Letting Go

Janice,

Nice continuation of the analogy, that. Sure,
if Compaq were mature about the matter, then it
would get the "sorry, goodbye" over with quickly.
Eventually, I think it will. But it has to go
for that long walk in the woods and heave a big
sigh of resolve before it takes the big step.
I'm sure you know what I mean here. ;-) The firm
strikes me as able to do that, but needing to
procrastinate just a bit more before it does.

We're getting a little off the number-crunching
here. That's okay with me. I use gut feelings
a lot in my investing. But I bet we're ticking
off our "hard, cold fact" colleagues, so I'll
not say more. We agree.
