Elcombe Systems Limited announced that Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) selected Elcombe Systems to provide emergency response capability as part of the Saskatchewan Assisted Living Services (SALS) initiative. Elcombe Systems' MainStreet Messenger(R) emergency response terminals will be made available to low-income seniors and disabled persons residing in approximately 11,000 SHC administered social housing units.
The award-winning MainStreet Messenger combines easy-to-use telephone features with a state-of-the-art wireless emergency response technology to provide tenants with a reliable communication link to family members or to centralized emergency dispatch services. This urgent response solution forms part of Saskatchewan Assisted Living Services (SALS) community-based support services, which assist tenants in maintaining their independence.
"One of the core objectives for SALS is to provide services which promote the independence and dignity of our tenants," said Ian White, Manager of Social Housing Programs for the province of Saskatchewan.
