Robert Bishop, writing in his Jan. 24 Fax-Alert (No. 156) and reprinted in his January Gold Mining Stock Report, says the latest strength shown by Manhattan Minerals may be a result of a rumour that the company has made another discovery at its Tambo Grande project. Mr. Bishop recommended Manhattan in March, 1998, at $3, and in June, 1999, at $3.85. In the current report, Mr. Bishop says the rumours involve a significant intersection of high-grade mineralization. If true, spectator fatigue "may become a thing of the past," he says. The company now trades at $4.95, well down from its July high of $8.50, owing not to a lack of good news, but headline-grabbing news. Manhattan is not getting any credit that TG3 is a minable deposit, he contends. "I think it's fair to say that there are widespread expectations that Manhattan will be in play this year; what's debatable is whether it is sooner or later," he says, adding that when Manhattan goes through $5.50, it will be a strong technical signal that the takeover process is under way.
