First-rate commentary!

The only thing I would point out is that there is a fundamental difference with internet enterprises: they have much lower barriers to entry, mostly composed of marketing and advertising. These are much easier to assail than, for example, the manufacturing processes developed for automobiles.

I also always enjoy Clifford Stoll's comments. I agree that clean drinking water is a far more important development than is the internet. But then again, maybe the internet will enable prosperity that will provide clean drinking water, so thus the internet is a meta-development and so is the most important of all ... hoo nose.
