Cheryl, everything you said about how wonderful Sun is with their solutions, vs. just hardware, could have been said about IBM also. IBM has hardware, software, solutions, service and RAS (are the best at the last 2). Still, I understand Sun is eating their lunch. What's so magic about Sun, vs. IBM, that they, Sun, couldn't be displaced also, by a third guy, or IBM?

who are the companies that support
SOLUTIONS using Itaniums???? What kind of solutions? How long
have they been in business providing those solutions?

IBM does solutions. I imagine they would be very interested in getting back at Sun now that they have a superior, lower cost hardware base on which to build their solutions.
There are at least a dozen others but IBM might be enough said.

All the big system major hardware providers, except Sun, and all the operating system people, including Sun with Solaris, are developing around Itanium. Is this just for grins, i.e., develop that and a few other solutions, and throw away all but one? I don't think so.

Your calling everything Microsoft does a piece of crap is pretty ostrich-like, and doesn't show much class either.

Tony
