RR3 was certainly disappointing for YA, but it's hard to be aggressive and concentrate on tactics when you are worried about your boat cracking in the middle and sinking :-)

I'm just really down on the entire American effort, it is an embarassment to our sail racing community when we can send five teams halfway around the world, including a Whitbread winner, a multiple Cup champion, and sailors with extensive America's Cup experience, but can't even make the fricking finals. Not to mention the critical breakdowns we had in equipment and in tactics. These prima donnas need to learn to team and work together. Dennis had a stellar career, but he needs to understand that It's Over! Get Over It and concentrate instead on fund raising and publicising the matches for the other racers. Dawn has already proven that she can race, but she needs to learn that she will never win a Whitbread or an Amercia's Cup and it has nothing to do with her being a woman,

I hope the Italians take the Cup. Maybe it will increase interest in sail racing if it is defended in Capri.

As much as I would like to see the cup back in the East Coast, there's no way that's going to happen unless another Ted Turner comes along with about $100M to throw at it. Wonder if Donald Trump likes to sail? :-)
