Any thoughts? Yes two thoughts. One if you wanted to get a new computer now I suggest you use the motherboard your computer store recommended, the Asus P3B-F. The pros are: 1. 6 PCI slots. 2. It uses Intel's proven 440BX chip set. 3. Ii is compatible with the Matrox G400 video card. The cons are: 1. No 133 MHz front side bus. 2. No AGP 4X graphics support. 3. The maximum speed CPU Asus shows on their site the P3B-F supports is a 600 MHz PIII. Conclusion using a P3B-F motherboard your computer will not be as fast as a P3V4X computer. But a computer built with the P3B-F motherboard will still be an excellent trading machine. My second thought is to suggest you wait until the 4 quarter of this year or later before you buy a new computer. The reason I say this is because the next thing I see coming that will make a significant increase in the speed of a computer without the cost penalty of Rambus RAM is double data rate SDRAM. However, the press reports I have seen predict the earliest availability of computers with double data rate SDRAM is late in 2000.
