I just recently began lurking on this thread due to the recent run up. I have been long Ciena since Gilder put it back on his list about a year or so ago (as best I remember). I must admit that I bought based on Gilder with little more than cursory knowledge of the industry (my background is finance). Having said all that, I am interested in these discussions about the possibilities for Ciena. One I see is it being acquired. As a pure play with a good product, a match with a company with more financial muscle would seem to make sense. One candidate that has been mentioned on another thread is Siemens. Does anyone out there have any insight or opinion about this?
