Hi Sig, I have never said that Dell is a "bad" company, nor have I ever said that 30% growth is bad. I have said a number of times that I wish I owned a company as successful as Dell. Having said this, I must also said the stock has not performed very well. Would I be wrong in saying that the stock's performance over the past 13 months has been a disappointed to all of us that own the stock?
IMO, Dell's management, including MD, have said a number of things that turned out to be wrong. For example, Dell had stated that the earthquake was not a problem for Dell. That Dell could get the components needed to carry on with the business. They also stated that Y2K would not be a problem. Well, as we just found out, both of these items were problems for Dell.
Would you care to comment on why we were told one thing, and then found out it was something else? Shouldn't management know what is happening to their, and our, company? This is not rocket science.
Comparing Dell to the companies that you mentioned in your posting means very little with respect to the questions that I raised.
Stock Bull
PS: You forget to mention EMC, and their position on Y2K, and how their CEO handled the problem. |
