Cisco sees Asia as route to riches

TAIPEI, April 7 (Reuters) - Cisco Systems Inc, whose network routers are a backbone of the Internet, said on Wednesday it would invest US$40 million in Asia to harness the Internet's explosive growth in the region.

Asia's rapidly developing information and technology markets are central to Cisco's 18-month investment plan, president and chief executive officer John Chamber told reporters in Taipei.
